Special 26
Neeraj Panday who made one of the most interesting movies of the last decade in “A Wednesday” couple of years back, brings a new adventure with a completely different tone in his latest offering.
It is good to see a film maker come out and try a completely new genre. Special 26 is a con crapper with delightful moments. I personally liked the movie a lot as it well written and keeps you on the edge till the very end.
The story could have done well without the romance and an absolutely needless heroine. I felt as if someone from the producers team shot a bullet at the directors window in the night to change the script and add a few songs to accommodate the heroine. It could have had better pace if that entire portion was just chopped off.
Akshay Kumar off late has been showing great judgment in the kind of movies he does along with the mindless action stuff he churns out. The production design team looks like they had their budget cut off. The quality of the graphics at some places looks like one from the 80’s. I think the makers forgot that current technology allows better finesse than what they choose to show.
Over all, special 26 is special and I would highly recommend a visit to the theatre.
